Dr. Carin Smith, President of Smith Veterinary Consulting, worked to help veterinarians and their teams create successful lives and careers. She was a consultant, speaker, trainer, and author who gained experience in both large and small animal practice before devoting her time to writing and consulting. In 2010 she received the Distinguished Service Award from the Association for Women Veterinarians. Dr. Smith is a nationally-recognized, award-winning author of hundreds of articles and many books. Dr. Smith also acted as a facilitator for groups and associations that wished to create or update their strategic plans, or to create policy, standards, or guidelines. She was able to help teams from project initiation through publication of their final results.
Involvement in her community and professional associations is important to Dr. Smith. She was a leader of the Wenatchee WA group “Wenatchee Valley Friends Improving Dog Opportunities,” which is creating a network of public, no-fee off-leash areas in Central Washington. She currently works as a volunteer helping improve all city parks, and with Rotary on a variety of projects.
Dr. Smith received her DVM degree from Oregon State and Washington State Universities in 1984. Her private practice experience includes large animal (dairy, beef, equine), small animal (feline, emergency, and general) and mixed practices.
